So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

I marvel at the fact that fear is readily found amongst believers, and more so, we think it's acceptable; even reasonable. It seems to go unrecognized or unnoticed. Yet we see God issue rather stern warnings, outright commands to people like Jeremiah and Joshua, not to fear. "Have I not commanded you..." We take these as a suggestion or simply words of comfort. Words that should comfort, certainly, but nonetheless a requirement. This fear and sin go hand in hand. Fear is the antithesis of faith. There is only One to be feared; justifiable and righteous.
